The action

Tirana faces the most serious air pollution in Albania. Road traffic is the main source of pollution, to which construction activity is added.
The main aim of the project is to provide a detailed and reliable overview of air pollution in Tirana and to encourage informed actions to improve air quality and public health. This will be achieved through:
Systematically measuring and monitoring air pollution levels for PM2.5 and PM10 parameters in various conditions and locations across Tirana using the Aeroqual device in combination with AQAir.
Publishing and disseminating the collected data to the public, local government, and policymakers to raise awareness and inform decision-making.
Health Impact Assessment: Collaborating with relevant institutions to assess the health impact of air pollution on Tirana’s citizens, using both air quality data and health statistics.
Public Awareness and Education: Raising awareness and educating the public on the health risks associated with air pollution and promoting best practices to reduce pollution.
This comprehensive approach aims to foster a better understanding of air pollution in Tirana, mitigate its effects, and ultimately improve the quality of life for its residents.
