Thanks to your generosity through donations to Smile.al, therapeutic treatment has become possible for 7 children with developmental problems in the Shkodra district, treatment that has begun for a period of 12 months and will end in September 2023.
During each multidisciplinary therapy session, these children are offered services to help them improve their skills in all areas of development.
Some treatments include physical therapy to help with motor delays, as well as behavioral and educational therapy.
Therapists have selected structured, age-appropriate activities that help develop and reinforce important social skills, such as managing shyness, interpreting non-verbal cues, initiating and maintaining play, etc.
Therapists also teach parents and caregivers how to support a socially or emotionally delayed child by offering strategies to help manage negative emotions and build self-esteem. These therapies also help the child learn to recognize social cues to encourage social and emotional development.
