The most beloved platform of Albanians Smile.al has been operating since October ’21, being the first and only crowdfunding platform in Albania for collecting funds from the public to support projects with a social character.
Since its launch, 2 calls have been opened and 20 projects have been put on the platform to be supported. The projects belong to various non-profit organizations that have been operating for years in Albania, and the projects launched on the platform have been in support of causes and different layers of society in areas such as solidarity, innovation, welfare, education, etc.
During the first call launched in May ’21, 12 projects were launched on the Smile platform, which requested support from Albanians in Albania and the world in order to be realized. These projects were also materialized with the great contribution of the strategic partners of the Smile platform: Credins Bank, Partners Albania, Grant Thornton and Vodafone Albania.
The first two projects implemented with complete success from the contributions donated to Smile.al are:
“Blue Buckets” – Care and Protection for the Elderly, from “Dorcas Aid International Albania”, where lonely elderly people from the Korça area were supported with food packages.
“Greenhouse for children and young people with intellectual disabilities” at the “Luigj Gurakuqi” special school in Tirana, which serves 127 children and young people with intellectual disabilities aged 6-18.
In total, 7 projects were successfully implemented, bringing a small contribution to the Albanian society to help those in need.
During the second call launched in October ’22, 8 projects have been launched on the Smile platform, which are in the process of collecting funds that will be donated by the public. Every non-profit organization now has one more opportunities to implement beautiful projects through the Smile platform, bringing to the attention of the public projects and causes for which we should all stand in solidarity as a society.
The strategic partners of the Smile platform, and especially Banka Credins as the creator and owner of this platform, aim to increase the responsibility of individuals, businesses and institutions regarding the objectives for sustainable development of the whole society, as well as to raise awareness to jointly contribute to help of society, needy classes, education, innovation, etc. A donation, no matter how small, counts and donating to these causes should become part of our everyday life.
The Smile platform serves the Albanian society and over 3.5 million Albanians in Albania and in the world have visited the projects posted on Smile.al and many of them have contributed by donating to the projects of their heart. The platform offers full transparency for every donation and each donor can make his/her name transparent or not. Each project winning organization must make the finalized projects transparent on the platform so that each donor can see the personal contribution made to the society that has gone to the designated destination.
