The action

The elderly people deserve respect and attention from all of us. They are a source of wisdom, life experience, and stories to tell. Many elderly people spend most of their time at home without any activities to pursue, and as our society ages, it becomes increasingly important to consider their needs in social, economic, and health terms. It is crucial for the elderly to maintain contact with their families, children, grandchildren, and friends, as isolation can lead to physical and mental health deterioration. The elderly people are never too old, but rather pioneers of the new generations who have contributed in the past to creating the individuals we are today. The main concern is not simply what the elderly people should do for themselves, but what the overall society should do to make the old age years more pleasant and meaningful. Having this in mind, with the purpose of improving the psychological-social life of the elderly people in Korça’s town, we aim through this proposal to develop further the functioning of the four Daily Elderly Centers, by providing a variety of activities and services for the elderly people. These centers will provide a comfortable place for the elderly people to meet and socialize with one another, and to have an entertaining time in this relaxing place. The project will focus on daily services that alleviate economic, social, and health problems for the elderly. Excursions and birthday celebrations for up to 200 elderly people will also be part of the activities offered by these centers.
