The action

The motto “Live healthy and economically” should become the motto of every family in Albania nowadays. In our daily conversations, we discuss about the electricity bills being high, that we cannot manage to provide enough hot sanitary water for the family or heating in winter, that seasons have changed and the environment is always more and more polluted. These challenges, considered as family challenges, are today global, adding the negative effect of the war in Ukraine. The solution to these challenges is found in some key words such as “Renewable energy”, “Energy efficiency”, “Climate change”, little known by our everyday vocabulary. To make these terms as familiar as possible, civic education is needed. Awareness-raising on the use of renewable energy, which is ecological, autonomous, efficient, aesthetic, economic, non-discriminatory, is the key to solving economic problems in terms of health.

In public institutions, nurseries, kindergartens and schools, the heating of sanitary water is done by electricity but the financial bill is unaffordable, while hot water service is very important for the children’s lives. Lushnja is one of the municipalities that has a solar radiation of about 2,500-2,700 sunny hours per year (Co-Plan). This fact clearly fulfills the need for hot sanitary water in an efficient manner by placing solar panels firstly in public nurseries and kindergartens. The installation of solar panels 2 nurseries and 2 public kindergartens in the city of Lushnja, civic education through awareness of renewable energy and then advocacy with the local government for placement in the budget line of the municipality – “Renewable energy investments” – Solar panels is the proposal of the organization Zeri Qytetar in this project.
