The action

Children who have encountered strong trauma during their first years, might exhibit cognitive developmental setbacks that manifest as speech difficulties.

Speech and language delays or disorders impact a child’s ability to communicate. A child with a language disorder may have difficulty not only to express thoughts and emotions, but also to interact with peers and adults, directly affecting the ability to develop social skills and academic progress.

At SOS Children’s Villages, our team of social workers and psychologists has identified 19 children who require speech therapy sessions. These sessions will be offered over the course of an academic year, aiming not only to enhance their speech skills but also to positively influence their future prospects.
